obligatory (read: cliche) lyric post.. somewhat relevant?
Religion doesn't mean a thing
Its just another way of being right wing
I think sex films are okay
I don't dig that pope no way

I've got nothing against church
Only people who go there
and show they're
Plain ignorant and don't understand
a congregation at weekends won't change their behaviour
So many people are weak enough to have
to seek answers from the peddlers of hope
I should know
I had to go there myself
Not since the day I became antipope

how is this relevant? i dont know any religious people.

stay out of that rotten catholic school.

want to hear a funny story about how bad catholic school is? my brother was teased because he looks like 'a fucking jew' in the words of the computer class bully. so one day my brother reached a point where he was tired of being bullied about being jewish and snapped and stabbed the kid in the arm with a pencil. then my brother was suspended. so my dad wrote a letter threatening mr. mullin that he would let the jewish community know about the anti semitism going on in his school, and that my brother's actions were the result of constant torment and racism. mr. mullin got really scared and had a meeting coming to some kind of agreement where his suspension would go on his record or something.

Well....my parents still go to church every weekend. And started up a St. Vincent de Paul society at it a couple of years ago, and deliver goods to those in need and whatnot.

Yet my sister bought a house with her girlfriend, who is more than welcome at all family functions. The political views of my family in general tend from Liberal to NDP.

Also, my uncle was actually in the seminary but quit at some point after too many times sneaking out to see Fellini movies or whatever.

Yeah...there's a lot of ignorant fucks who support the church, but there's a lot of ignorant fucks who go to sporting events or drink beer or go dancing or any other number of things we do. That doesn't mean there aren't still people in the "hey we just want to hang out with good people and help other people" faction.
